First Baptist Church of Midway, Plant City Florida

 I was born and raised right here in Plant City. My mother and her side of the family all had a hand in the up-bringing of my sister and myself. It was my grandmother, in particular who had a profound influence on me. She lived her Christianity on a daily basis in the home. It was her example that led to my eventual conversion to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life at the age of 16.  What a wonderful gift she led me to. Not long after that I was given the opportunity to learn the radio broadcasting business from my uncle, who was part owner in 910am at that time. This led to what became a life-long career in Christian Broadcasting. In addition to this, I also performed semi-professionally as a vocalist in several Christian bands for around seven years. Now  37 years later I'm retired from radio broadcasting and ministering here at FBC Midway. This church is growing fast and is already a powerful witness for The Lord Jesus in this community. I plan to do whatever I can to keep us up-to-date with our efforts to evangelize this community and beyond. God knew that as I approach my senior years, this is where my wife and I needed to be. The Senior Pastor, Dr. Mitch Weissman, is just that, a "wise man". He is a jewish believer who really brings the scriptures to life. His vision for this church and the incredible family of believers here is a great combination for growth as we serve The Lord together. Did I mention the worship service is very dynamic.
